Episode 73: Getting to Know Fremont's New Fire Chief with Zoraida Diaz

Ricky B Season 2 Episode 73

Some kids dream of being a fireman, but most never fulfill that dream. The opposite is true of Fremont's new Fire Chief. She never dreamed or imagined herself being a fireman; but now, over 20 years of fire service, she is now in charge of Fremont's Fire Department.

Zoraida Diaz became a fireman after previously receiving a degree and serving in social work. After more serving for a decade and a half in the northeastern United States, she came to California to see what other opportunities she might discover. Little did she realize that even then that she would soon be a fire fighter.

Zoraida Diaz served in the Oakland Fire Department for almost 20 years, and now she is leading the Fremont Department as the newly appointed Fire Chief.
